Details Float pool position covering Med/Surg Intermediate and PCU departments across approximately 5 units, with potential floating to other metro campuses Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM Patient ratio of 1:5 Requires 8 weekend shifts within Saint Luke's 6-week schedule period (combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday) Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit No on-call requirements Care for patients with cardiac telemetry, neuro stepdown, sepsis, wound care, ETOH, suicidal ideation, renal failure, AFIB, GIB, stroke, and COVID conditions Utilizes EPIC EMR, 12 lead EKG, AirVo, Voalte, and Omnicell systems Requirements Active Kansas and Missouri RN license, or compact license, required in hand at time of consideration Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS Preferred certification: ACLS 1 to 2 years of recent specialty experience required, including a full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gaps greater than 90 days Required skills: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and pre/post cardiac catheterization care Preferred skills: sheath removal, feeding tube care and management, port access and management, blood product administration, and central line care Must be willing to float between departments, units, and facilities as needed Additional Information Provide direct patient care in a float pool PCU role, floating across multiple telemetry and stepdown units as needed Perform cardiac monitoring and emergency response duties including dysrhythmia interpretation and management Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted Maximum RTO of 7 days permitted Returning staff with prior tenure must have completed an 18-month assignment followed by a 3-month break in service First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates with prior permanent employment at BJC or Saint Luke's facilities must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler American Traveler Job ID P-759625.
