Retail Sales Associate

We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and self‑motivated Retail Sales Associate/Cashier to join our smoke shop team. In this role, you will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions accurately, assist customers with product selections, and maintain a clean and organized store environment. The ideal candidate is punctual, dependable, proactive, and willing to go the extra mile by picking up additional shifts when needed to support the team. This is a part‑time/full‑time position with flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in a fast‑paced retail setting. Key Responsibilities Greet customers promptly and professionally, building rapport and providing knowledgeable recommendations on smoke shop products (including tobacco, vapes, glassware, accessories, CBD, and related items). Operate the point‑of‑sale (POS) system to process transactions accurately, handle cash, credit/debit cards, and issue receipts. Strictly verify customer age by checking valid ID for all age‑restricted purchases, ensuring full compliance with local laws and regulations. Assist with product education, answering questions, and up‑selling to meet daily sales goals. Stock shelves, rotate inventory, and maintain attractive product displays. Keep the store clean and organized, including dusting glass displays, sweeping/mopping floors, cleaning counters, and taking out trash. Perform opening and closing duties, including cash drawer reconciliation. Proactively handle store tasks during downtime to ensure the shop is always ready for customers. Collaborate with team members to provide a positive shopping experience. Qualifications and Requirements Must be at least 21 years old (required for handling age‑restricted products). High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous retail, sales, or customer service experience is a plus; smoke shop or vape shop knowledge is good, but not necessary (training provided for enthusiastic learners). Strong customer service skills with a friendly, outgoing personality. Basic math skills and comfort with cash handling/POS systems. Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 30–50 lbs (e.g., boxes of inventory), and perform physical tasks like stocking and cleaning. Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
