FLSA Status: Exempt Annual Salary: $59,364 Work Days: 240 Location: Lorenzo Road Reports To: Director of Construction Primary Function The job of Construction Coordinator is to coordinate assigned construction projects and related activities; provide information to others; and implement and maintain services within established guidelines and standards. Qualifications Associate’s degree in construction management, project management, engineering, architecture, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred). Valid Driver’s License. Job‑related experience preferred, especially in GA K‑12 construction. Physical capability for routine activities such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and fine finger dexterity. Knowledge of algebra/geometry, technical information review, writing technical materials, persuasive speaking, and analysis of situations. Knowledge of construction processes, codes, policies, regulations, building systems, and reading of plans/specifications. Skills in budgeting, office equipment operation, project planning and management, accurate record keeping. Ability to schedule activities, gather and classify data, use job‑related equipment, work with diverse individuals, and solve problems. Essential Duties Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance. Consult with the Director of Construction regarding policies, procedures, and actions related to construction projects to provide information and direction for decision-making. Coordinate activities with the construction team and school personnel (renovations, inspections, contractor and architect meetings, permitting, project close‑out, building commission activities, calendars, mandated reports, etc.) to ensure all phases of construction projects comply with specifications. Direct project support staff (construction managers, architects, engineers, etc.) to ensure projects are completed on time and in compliance with specifications. Evaluate potential sites and/or condition of existing facilities to determine construction and/or renovation requirements. Monitor project activities (costs, time, materials, schedules, budgets, change orders, etc.) to ensure district objectives are achieved within budget and timeframes. Observe all aspects of construction (exterior, interior, walls, electrical, roof, concrete, paint, etc.) to evaluate compliance with plans and specifications. Oversee preparation of written materials (contracts, correspondence, memos, budgets, costs, bid invitations, calendars, schedules, etc.) to document activities and convey information. Oversee development of specifications for renovation and modification projects (educational specifications, cost analysis, project schedules, permits, purchasing/bid timing, construction procedures, etc.) to provide in‑house personnel and to select and award contracts. Respond to inquiries (administrative staff, local inspectors, contractors, architects, public, etc.) to provide required information or refer to appropriate source. Review construction‑related information to ensure completeness of records and insurance claims. Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
