DC Phlebotomist 1- McKinney Donor Center (Part-Time) (53396)

Overview Carter BloodCare is expanding our dynamic team of Phlebotomists. This role is suitable for individuals new to healthcare or looking to transition into the field. No experience is required. We are hiring for Mobile Collections and Donor Center teams. Mobile Collections travel to blood drives to connect with donors; Donor Centers are located throughout North, Central and East Texas, with opportunities to build relationships with regular donors. What does a Phlebotomist do? Personally connect with donors, listen to their stories, and explain the impact of their donation. Collaborate with teammates to create a friendly environment that encourages donors to return and invite others to donate. Be detail-oriented to ensure collected blood meets regulatory requirements for safe transfusion. Work with the team to move, set up, and take down equipment at mobile blood drives. Training Schedule During training, which can last up to nine weeks, days and hours vary depending on mobile drives or Donor Center hours and may include early mornings, late nights, and weekends. Standard Schedule After Training To best meet donor needs, team members work a variable schedule that may include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays. Schedules are provided 3 weeks in advance. Location Mobile Collections: Arrive in Bedford, TX each day and ride out to the designated blood drive(s). Donor Centers: Designated site within North, Central or East Texas. Job Type Full-Time (part-time opportunities may be available after training). Qualifications Required qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Six months of general work experience OR comparable education in the medical field (internship/externship) Customer service experience Preferred qualifications Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience Prior leadership experience Bilingual (Spanish) skills Motivated to become a designated van or CDL driver through company-sponsored programs Physical and mental requirements Ability to move about the work area to handle donors and access equipment, including standing, sitting, walking, stooping, and working in confined spaces Ability to ascend/descend stairs to enter/exit vehicles and to bend or kneel to set up equipment Must be able to communicate with donors to obtain medical history and monitor donation; exchange accurate information professionally Ability to lift and move equipment up to 25 pounds; may need to assist donors who are reacting (Donor Center Phlebotomists) Ability to move and set up equipment weighing up to 25 pounds daily; may partner carry items up to 120 pounds (Mobile Collections Phlebotomists) Frequent loading/unloading of vehicles; ability to push carts/dollies up to 250 pounds; applicable in various weather conditions Flexibility to work irregular shifts, long hours, and adapt to schedule changes Exposure to infectious blood and blood products Ability to understand and follow oral/written instructions and communicate professionally Mental resilience to manage demanding schedules and meet deadlines Ability to adapt to changing environments and work in high-stress situations Normal vision to distinguish colors, distance, and focus Regular exposure to cleaning chemicals (e.g., bleach) What is in it for you?
