Sales Professional - Outside Sales

Job Responsibilities Over the course of the workday, the Sales Associate is responsible for achieving monthly sales targets, developing relationships within the community to generate qualified leads, and following up on those leads to schedule appointments. Revenue Generation Attain or exceed monthly sales revenue quota. Apply sales skills and present the Dignity Memorial® Personal Planning Guide electronic PowerPoint presentations to consumers. Present at‑need cemetery and pre‑need arrangement services and explain the benefits of pre‑planning. Guide and tour prospective families through cemetery grounds or crematory mausoleums, actively listening to needs, asking probing questions, and discussing options. Identify each family’s unique needs and offer tailored solutions. Provide service beyond expectations to build a foundation for future sales. Promote the SCI Brand and maintain service excellence. Follow the company process, complete contracts accurately, follow up on outstanding documents, and walk families through final contract. Address final questions and confirm understanding. Prospecting Self‑initiate leads throughout the community, professional networks, civic organizations, businesses, and other groups. Prospect at least 50% of the workday by approaching families face‑to‑face during events, door‑knocking, or seminars. Maintain and track activity levels in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database to ensure productivity. Work nights and weekends as required. Obtain referrals from families served through after‑care visits (ACV). Schedule sales appointments and prepare marketing materials or cultural knowledge for each appointment. Build Relationships with Families Establish and maintain professional, service‑oriented relationships with families. Connect with families by listening, communicating honestly, and showing genuine concern. Support families in a time of grief with acts of kindness and by attending services and/or receptions. Represent a continuous link from services provided at the time of need through aftercare and ongoing protection services. Teamwork Collaborate with management and staff to provide high‑quality services and improve processes. Share family concerns with the rest of the SCI team. Minimum Requirements Education High‑school diploma or equivalent required. College coursework preferred. License Funeral Directors License where required by state law. Life Insurance license where required by state law; company will support obtaining licensing. Current state/province issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Experience Sales experience preferred. Industry experience a plus. Previous Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems experience a plus. Skills & Abilities Computer and technology skills. Goal‑oriented self‑starter. Public speaking ability; comfortable presenting to small groups. Work well in a team and independently. Work a significant number of evenings and weekends. Bilingual is a plus. Target Compensation Range Estimated total target compensation for this position in the first year ranges from $50,000 to $100,000 annually, based on a strong commission‑based incentive structure. In subsequent years, sales professionals commonly earn $100,000 to $150,000 or more annually. Actual compensation will vary based on individual performance, geographic location, and applicable business conditions. Note: As part of the total compensation plan, this position pays no less than $10.00 per hour for all hours worked.
