Job Title: Assembler (2nd Shift)

Job Description

This role focuses on the precise assembly and manufacturing of medical devices, including catheter products, using a microscope in a cleanroom environment. You follow established procedures and quality standards to build, inspect, and document products that support patient care and medical innovation.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture medical devices, including catheter assemblies, using a microscope and other production and inspection tools.
• Follow and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures, Line Clearance requirements, Work Instructions, assembly methods, product handling methods, production drawings, Good Documentation Practices, current Good Manufacturing Practices, and all safety requirements.
• Successfully complete training on production tasks and demonstrate understanding of travelers/routers and material identification.
• Operate tools and equipment accurately and complete all required documentation for production and inspection activities.
• Perform equipment set-up, operation, and in-process inspection to ensure tasks are completed to specification and quality standards.
• Work directly with engineers and supervisors to ensure product integrity and quality are maintained at all times.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop and refine process documentation for manufacturing and inspection steps.
• Perform inventory counts and assist with tracking materials and components used in production.
• Use required safety equipment when performing lab and cleanroom work.
• Receive and follow verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed and adapt to other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment, or prototyping experience.
• Prior experience in medical device assembly, particularly catheter assembly, is a strong plus.
• Ability to perform assembly and inspection work using a microscope with strong hand dexterity.
• Experience working in a cleanroom environment.
• Understanding of and ability to perform in-process inspection to assure workmanship and quality of in-process medical devices.
• Familiarity with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Line Clearance, and Good Documentation Practices.
• Ability to follow production drawings, travelers/routers, and work instructions accurately.
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with engineers, supervisors, and team members.
• Comfort working with adhesives, including different types of Loctite, and using EFD dispensers and UV curing systems.
• Commitment to using required safety equipment and following safety protocols at all times.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with catheter manufacturing operations is highly desirable.
• Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with small components and precision tools.
• Previous experience with microscope assembly and inspection in a medical or regulated environment.
• Ability to learn new processes quickly in a start-up environment and contribute to process improvements.
• Attention to detail and strong documentation skills in a regulated manufacturing setting.

Work Environment

You work in a cleanroom environment focused on the manufacturing of catheter and other medical device products. The role involves second-shift work with consistent production activities, including microscope-based assembly, use of EFD dispensers, UV curing systems, and various adhesives. You follow strict safety, cleanliness, and documentation standards and wear appropriate cleanroom attire and safety equipment while performing lab and production tasks.

6 on 2nd, 3 on 3rd

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carlsbad, CA.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $24.15/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
