This role involves working in a hybrid team structure, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including consultants, external vendors, and AI tool outputs, while leveraging agentic development tools such as Claude Code to accelerate delivery. You will provide technical leadership and ensure code quality across the hybrid development approach.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and deploy scalable Java backend services using Spring Boot to support financial operations, including transaction processing, reporting engines, and secure APIs for internal and external integrationsBuild responsive, intuitive user interfaces using TypeScript and React, tailored to the workflows of finance and operations usersLeverage agentic AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar to accelerate feature delivery, while critically reviewing, validating, and refining AI-generated code to ensure quality, security, and alignment with business requirementsDesign, optimize, and maintain SQL Server databases including complex queries, stored procedures, indexing, and performance tuning for high-volume financial workloadsImplement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in Azure DevOps to ensure efficient, reliable deployment processesLead code reviews and provide technical guidance for code developed by in-house engineers, consultants, external vendors, and AI-assisted development toolsEstablish and enforce coding standards, architectural best practices, and technical documentation requirements across the hybrid development teamIntegrate solutions with existing platforms and business applications, including financial systems such as Sage Intacct, to improve operational efficiency and automationOptimize applications for scalability, performance, and reliability within cloud-based environments and continuously improve based on feedback and real-world dataDevelop a strong understanding of the underlying business processes and partner with stakeholders to translate those needs into appropriate, well-designed technical solutionsOther duties as assigned.QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field3+ years of experience in full stack software development with a strong focus on Java technologies and modern frontend frameworksAdvanced proficiency in Java and the Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data)Strong expertise in TypeScript and React, including state management, component design, and responsive UI developmentHands-on experience with agentic AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar, with a demonstrated ability to drive productive workflows and critically evaluate AI-generated outputStrong experience with SQL Server (or a comparable RDBMS), including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance optimizationExperience with Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred)Solid understanding of microservices architecture, REST API design, and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)Strong grasp of software design patterns, object-oriented programming principles, and secure coding practicesExperience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, Jest, or PlaywrightExcellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and provide technical leadership in a hybrid team environmentDesired AttributesExperience in financial services, private equity, or fund administration is desirable but not requiredFamiliarity with Sage Intacct or similar fund accounting platformsFamiliarity with Azure cloud services and cloud-native application developmentExperience working in Agile/Scrum environments with hybrid teams of in-house staff, consultants, and external vendorsExposure to building or maintaining financial transaction processing systems or reporting enginesDemonstrated track record of leading or mentoring engineers in adopting AI-assisted development practices and establishing related code-review and quality standardsWorking knowledge of Python for scripting, automation, or backend service developmentFamiliarity with agentic workflow frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or similarThe salary range for this position is $125,000 - $160,000, in addition to a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits package.
