The Big Picture

Emmanuel Baptist Church ( is seeking a relational Associate Pastor of Youth and Worship to shepherd students in grades 7–12 toward spiritual maturity through individual, small-group, and large-group discipleship, and to lead the congregation in Christ-exalting worship through music. This is a full-time pastoral position requiring some evening and weekend responsibilities, working alongside the Senior Pastor to maintain a healthy, sustainable ministry schedule.

Emmanuel is a growing, Christ-centered congregation in East-Central Minnesota, joyfully committed to Reformed theology and the sufficiency of Scripture in all areas of life and ministry. Over the past eight years the church has seen steady financial and spiritual stability and growth, particularly among young families and teenagers, and is currently transitioning to a biblical elder-led structure.

Job Profile

Youth Ministry (70%)

• Form intentional relationships with students that encourage and facilitate spiritual growth
  
• Plan and lead weekly youth group gatherings and Sunday School classes
  
• Recruit, train, and disciple adult volunteers
  
• Develop and empower student leaders, providing meaningful opportunities for them to grow
  
• Coordinate and participate in mission trips, retreats, camps, and other youth ministry events
  

Worship Ministry (20%)

• Plan weekly music sets appropriate for worship and aligned with the church's theology and ministry philosophy
  
• Lead the worship team and congregation in exalting Jesus through music each week
  
• Develop and maintain a balanced worship repertoire while thoughtfully introducing new music
  
• Empower worship team members with opportunities for leadership and service, identifying and developing new talent
  
• Oversee the audio/visual ministry, equipping volunteers and ensuring the church has the technology and support needed for worship services
  

Additional Pastoral Responsibilities (10%)

• Participate in staff meetings, ministry planning, and other administrative responsibilities
  
• Serve alongside the Senior Pastor and Council of Elders in the broader shepherding ministry of the church
  
• Preach and teach on an occasional basis, as opportunities arise
  
• Participate in weddings, funerals, church-wide events, and other pastoral ministry opportunities
  

Qualifications

• Demonstrate the character and spiritual maturity necessary for pastoral ministry, growing toward the qualifications for eldership in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:6–9
  
• Demonstrate a passion for discipling students and engaging younger generations to grow in their love for God
  
• Possess vocal and/or instrumental ability suitable for musical leadership
  
• A college degree in a related field or theological training is preferred but not required; relevant ministry experience and demonstrated competency will also be considered
  
• Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, volunteers, and the congregation
  
• Affirm and support Emmanuel Baptist Church's Affirmation of Faith and Covenant
  

Compensation & Benefits

• Total package: $48,688–$63,688/year
  
• $40,000–$55,000 base salary plus housing
  
• $5,000/year retirement
