Location: Cudahy, WI Onsite/ Remote: Day 1 Onsite at customer location

Skills: The Systems Engineer works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to undertake custom industrial refrigeration and gas compression system equipment design - performing calculations, making component selections, and building documentation for our customers according to requirements of their project

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Review compression system design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, contract requirements, and related codes and specifications.
• Consult with the Project Engineer and Sales to settle degree of compliance with customer specifications and design requirements.
• Review and interpret codes and standards (ASME, CRN, NFPA, AWS, IBC, etc.) for system compliance.
• Make system component selections while generating a project Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P ID). Confer with Mechanical Design Engineers on standard products included in the project.
• Conduct all necessary calculations, design reviews with production, and develop all custom documentation required for project execution.
• Review and approve production drawings for custom systems, adding recommendations to improve design, reduce costs, or increase production efficiency. Chip in as a technical resource to the shop, customers, sales, and other departments to address and resolve questions and problems.
• Prepare specifications for custom equipment and work with procurement to obtain quotations.
• Participate in multi-functional teams to address new design issues and resolve problems to ensure the continuous, ongoing improvement of processes and methods.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant field with 1+ years of engineering experience. Ability to understand and address a wide variety of technical problems with little mentorship.
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely in writing and other presentation formats. Working experience with AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD software.
• Must be an outstanding teammate, willing to learn from experienced staff and capable of introducing positive changes.

Preferred:

• Previous experience with Compression systems or other pressure piping systems. Experience with Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P ID).
• Understanding of manufacturing BOM structure and ERP.
• Previous experience in heat transfer products or thermodynamic systems.
• Ability to coordinate and lead teams with varied strengths to implement changes and improvements.
