Controls Engineer

Global Supplier | 30-40 Minutes South of the Columbus, IN Metro Area

Salary: Up to $90,000 + Annual Bonus

Our client, a global manufacturing supplier, is seeking a Controls Engineer to support automation, controls systems, and manufacturing technology initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, improving processes, working with automation technologies, and driving continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate and support control systems, automation equipment, and manufacturing applications.
• Research and evaluate new manufacturing and controls technologies and assist with implementation.
• Design and execute testing procedures to verify system functionality and safety compliance.
• Develop, review, and maintain electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control drawings.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to evaluate components, materials, and suppliers.
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of process and production data collection systems.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing, process engineering, maintenance, and operations teams.
• Troubleshoot equipment and automation issues to minimize downtime and improve performance.
• Support preventive maintenance programs and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Maintain project documentation using established engineering standards and methodologies.
• Coordinate supplier activities and support successful project execution.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and other engineering projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Experience with electrical schematics, ladder logic programming, HMI development, and safety PLC systems.
• Hands-on experience with: Allen-Bradley PLCs, Servo Controllers, HMI software and products, Industrial automation systems
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations.
