Our skilled nursing facility boasts a loyal team of long-term employees and a fantastic work culture.Positions available:2:45 pm – 11:15 pm & 10:45 pm – 7:15 am shifts may be eligible for a $1.00 per hour shift differentialOPS SLPN (WW) Weekend Warrior positions available at the rate of $24.72/hourEligible shifts include weekdays Monday to Friday, 3PM to 11PM, 11PM to 7AM, and all shifts that fall on a weekend – Saturday and Sunday. From funds available, the program may make nursing education loan repayments of up to $4000 per year, per nurse enrolled in the program, for a maximum of four years.Minimum qualifications:Willingness and ability to work weekends and holidays as requiredValid State of Florida Licensed Practical Nurse or possession of a graduate practical nurse letter from the Florida Board of NursingValid CPR certificationFluency in the English Language: Reading, Writing, Speaking and understandingMust possess excellent customer service skills and interpersonal skillsKnowledgeable in the use of computer applications: Microsoft Office, including OutlookSuccessful completion of a current Level II Criminal Background Screening to include but not limited to a drug test and finger printingPreferred qualifications:One (1) year of experience working with a geriatric population in a skilled long-term care facilityExperience passing medications in a skilled nursing facilityPosition description:Nurses will be given direct supervision by an RNGive ordered treatments, administer prescribed medications, give direct ADL care and complete requirements for diagnostic procedures as requested by the attending physician on an assigned shift per established policies and proceduresReceive verbal orders, including telephone orders from attending physiciansTranscribes physician's orders to all appropriate documents on an assigned shift per established policies and proceduresMake rounds with physicians and other health care personnel per established policies and proceduresMonitor physician's orders for completionReview and follow-up on resident incidents or complaintsCount narcotics at beginning and end of shiftAssure that narcotic records are accurate for assigned shiftProvide supervision (lead worker duties) for the facility on an assigned shift as requiredReview work assignments with staff on unit and assign team members in accordance with the patient's needs, available staffing, and in accordance with policies and proceduresAssure assigned CNAs are in dining room on timeTry to problem solve with employees as required before involving supervisorRecognize and respond to changes in residents' conditions as it occursRecord observations accurately and conciselyNotify supervisor, physician and family of changesDocument all notifications as they are madeAssist physicians with special tests and procedures as required and within the scope of the Florida Nursing Practice ActReceive and give report at beginning and end of shift by making walking rounds with the off-going and on-coming nurseComplete, sign and date the MDS, RAP modules and additional assessmentsReview and update care plans; notify chairperson if changes need to be made per established policies and procedures; and attend Interdisciplinary Care Plans when requestedMaintain professional standards of nursing care at all timesFollows all local, state, and federal rules and regulations, as well as the policies and procedures of the facility and nursing departmentAttend mandatory and non-mandatory in-services, meetings, Care Plans and MDS as requiredEnsure economical utilization of supplies and proper charging of items to residents' accountsEnsure equipment is maintained in a clean and safe mannerMaintain valid CPR certification and perform as neededPerform all other related duties as assigned by SupervisorThis position is in the Career Service system.
