We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to serve as the senior financial leader for an established, multi-location steel fabrication and manufacturing business in Houston. Reporting directly to executive leadership, you will oversee accounting operations, establish modern processes and internal controls, mentor a growing team, and help guide the company through an upcoming ERP implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting, monthly close, financial reporting, and GAAP compliance.
• Manage inventory accounting, standard costing, job costing, and WIP tracking in partnership with plant operations.
• Supervise, mentor, and build a high-performing accounting team focused on accountability and continuous process improvement.
• Streamline workflows, reduce manual/paper-based tasks, and lead process cleanup in preparation for a future ERP implementation.
• Prepare annual budgets, cash flow forecasts, and executive reports; assist with banking relationships, lender reporting, and annual tax/audit coordination.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required or strongly preferred .
• 10\+ years of progressive accounting experience, with 5+ years in a manufacturing leadership role .
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, standard costing, job costing, WIP, and QuickBooks.
• Prior experience evaluating or implementing ERP systems is a strong plus.
• Hands-on leader with excellent communication skills and a track record of driving process improvements.
