Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Contract | Nights (3x12 Hours, 19:00–07:00) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to an adult and geriatric population in an Intermediate Care/PCU/Stepdown setting with an average daily census of 4.5 patients per nurse (1:5 ratio)
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac dysrhythmias, responding appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Manage and care for patients presenting with diagnoses including hypertensive urgency, Afib with RVR, DKA/HHS, sepsis, respiratory insufficiency requiring BiPap, heart failure, COPD exacerbation, post-operative status, GI bleed, stable stroke, chronic ventilator care, unstable angina, and drug overdose
• Utilize unit systems including Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR for documentation, medication administration, and communication
• Float within scope of practice to other units or a sister campus as needed
• Adhere to weekend, holiday, and scheduling requirements as outlined by the facility

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in IMC, PCU, or Stepdown; first-time travelers not accepted
• Active Georgia RN license or valid Compact license required at time of submission
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• Demonstrated proficiency in telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Familiarity with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication framework
• Full compliance with onboarding requirements must be completed prior to start date

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for patients on chronic ventilator support or BiPap therapy
• Prior travel nursing experience with demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to new unit environments
• Familiarity with stepdown-level care for post-operative and neurological patient populations
