Education Service Center, Region 20
Description JOB SUMMARY: Provide regional leadership, technical assistance, and staff development to Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) clients in the area of Summer Learning and Learning Off Site. Collaborate with the Texas Education Agency (TEA), other ESCs, and ESC-20 staff members to support increased academic achievement for all students. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS/ABILITIES Knowledge
• Master's degree required from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate required.
• Three years of relevant teaching experience.
• Experience in working with programs delivering instruction to at-risk students.
• Experience in planning and delivering staff development through a variety of models (e.g. face-to-face, online self-paced, online facilitated, webinar and video conferencing).
• Experience in program development.
• Experience in English language arts and reading curriculum development and implementation. Skills/Abilities
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and expertise in facilitating groups.
• Demonstrate effective job-related skills that model effective integration of technology.
• Proficiency with standard functions within applications such as Microsoft 365/Google, (word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software), e-mail, web browsers, and databases.
• Proficiency with computers (PCs and/or MACs) to include file and desktop management and operations, and working in a cloud-based and/or networked environment.
• Exceptions to these requirements will be considered based on exemplary skills, training, and record of success. PRODUCTS/OUTCOMES
• Create and provide regional professional development, technical assistance, and resources that foster the educational success of all students.
• Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of Summer Learning and Learning Off Site programs for ESC-20 and designated districts/campuses.
• Work cooperatively with other consultants as well as directors and campus leadership in developing support.
• Observe classroom instruction and provide feedback, coaching, and assistance to classroom teachers to facilitate improvement and innovation.
• Design and/or facilitate Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills/Prekindergarten Guidelines aligned experiences that bridge professional learning to Learning Off-site Partners.
• Cultivate strategic partnerships with Learning Off-Site Partners to sustain and expand experiences for clients.
• Create and support Summer Learning experiences resources for clients.
• Provide support to all Local Education Agencies (LEAs) for state testing and data desegregation.
• Participate in TEA initiatives and maintain appropriate certifications.
• Work with district personnel to implement strategies that increase student achievement and close the gaps among all student populations.
• Develop marketing strategies for products, services, and programs that reflect data driven decisions.
• Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness.
• Report progress of improvement efforts to Center personnel and local education agencies. INITIATIVE

• Be aware of and follow Center guidelines of allowable costs when recommending use of public funds for expenditures for supplies, equipment, and facilities in area of assignment. PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
• Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer, peripherals, copy machine, phone, etc.
• Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional standing, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
• Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching.
• Lifting: Light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); occasional heavy lifting/carrying (15-50 pounds).
• Environment: This role primarily operates in an in-person, dynamic office setting, characterized by frequent verbal communication, movement, and collaboration among team members (small to large in-person gatherings/meetings); exposure to low or intense illumination; exposure to office equipment noise; may work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent travel; exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, direct sunlight, low or intense illumination, and noise; work on slippery surfaces. and occasional remote work (after pre-determined length of employment).
• Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Champion and model the Center's Mission, Vision, Core Values, and Service Standards.
• Function within the policies and procedures of ESC-20.
• Accept other responsibilities as assigned.
• Dress and groom appropriately for the ESC-20 work setting.
• Travel independently to fulfill responsibilities of the position.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance, majority in-person/onsite.
• Serve at the will of the Executive Director. FUNDING
• This position is funded in whole or in part by a federal grant administered under the Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR) and is subject to the cost principles outlined in 2 CFR Part 200 Subpart E (Uniform Guidance). All costs associated with this position must be allowable, allocable, and
reasonable under federal guidelines. The employee is expected to maintain time and effort documentation consistent with federal requirements.
