Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVOR/Surgery position requiring a minimum of two years CVOR and EPIC charting experience.

Details

• Hospital-based operating room setting within the General Surgery unit
• Focus on cardiovascular (open-heart) cases with ability to support general OR as needed
• Monday-Friday schedule, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
• 13-week assignment length
• Full-time work type
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active RN license in Texas or compact
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum of two years CVOR experience required
• Minimum of two years EPIC charting experience required
• 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and treatment effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Practice independently while making appropriate assignments and delegating to other care providers as needed
• RTO must be disclosed upfront prior to receiving an offer
• Candidates who have previously worked at any CHRISTUS facility must be separated for at least 6 months prior to consideration for this travel assignment
