Sr. Symitar Systems Analyst

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Senior Symitar System Analyst reports to the Host Services Manager and supports the analysis, design, integration, testing, implementation, administration, and support of the Symitar core banking system and related Host Services applications. This role maintains production and development environments, supports business units, manages recurring operational processes, and serves as a technical subject matter expert for Symitar, PowerOn, PowerFrame Docs, OpCon, OnBase, integrations, automation, and data analysis. This role provides advanced technical support and leadership, contributes to projects that improve efficiency, reliability, security, compliance, and the user/member experience, and assists the Host Services Manager with technical, operational, project, vendor, and administrative responsibilities.

Position Duties & Functions

Core Banking, Host Services Applications & Integrations

• Maintain, troubleshoot, configure, optimize, and administer Symitar production and development environments, including user, computer, and server access.
• Support Symitar releases, upgrades, service packs, mandates, data purges, scheduled downtime events, integrations, data feeds, file transfers, vendor applications, and related Host Services applications including OnBase, ARCU, EDS/SDS, and PowerFrame Docs.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and internal IT teams to resolve technical issues and maintain stable, reliable application support.

Development, Automation & Job Scheduling

• Design, develop, test, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot PowerOn programs and PowerFrame Docs solutions, including templates, forms, workflows, configurations, and integrations.
• Administer and support the In-House OpCon and EASE-hosted OpCon environments, including automated processing, job scheduling, file transfers, workflows, and third-party integrations.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen recurring production activities.

Data Analysis, Reporting & Operational Reliability

• Perform SQL querying and data analysis using ARCU and/or Databricks for troubleshooting, reporting, reconciliation, research, trend analysis, and operational improvement.
• Monitor ARCU Data Load processes, troubleshoot data issues with Infrastructure and Application Services teams, and support EDS/SDS and ARCU upgrades to maintain data reliability, system performance, and operational continuity.
• Monitor performance, provide advanced second-level support, perform root-cause analysis, prioritize issues by impact and urgency, and implement sustainable solutions for complex or recurring issues.

Projects, Business Support & Technical Leadership

• Partner with business units to gather requirements, identify process improvements, lead or support Symitar-related projects, and provide technical recommendations on scope, risk, dependencies, testing, deployment, and vendor integrations.
• Support the Host Services Manager with applicable technical, operational, project, vendor, and administrative responsibilities.
• Serve as a trusted technical subject matter expert for Symitar, PowerOn, PowerFrame Docs, OpCon, OnBase, integrations, automation, and related technologies.

Security, Risk & Compliance

• Follow security, access-control, change-management, and operational procedures.
• Support audits, risk assessments, control testing, regulatory reporting, document retention, and compliance requirements.

Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing

• Serve as a technical resource and mentor for other analysts and business partners.
• Promote cross-training, knowledge sharing, documentation, and knowledgebase practices to reduce dependency on single resources.
• Review technical solutions and encourage automation, modern development practices, and emerging technologies.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION

• Minimum of seven years of related information systems, core banking, or financial technology experience, including significant Jack Henry Symitar experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
• Demonstrated experience with Symitar, PowerOn, PowerFrame Docs, SQL/ARCU and/or Databricks, OpCon, OnBase, EDS/SDS, integrations, automation, production support, and troubleshooting.
• Certifications or formal training in Symitar/Jack Henry, Hyland OnBase, and Continuous OpCon required or preferred based on role needs.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects, upgrades, hotfixes, mandates, compliance-sensitive work, vendor coordination, stakeholder communication, team mentorship, and competing priorities.

KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS

• Programming or scripting experience with languages such as PowerShell, Python, Java, JavaScript, or similar technologies.
• Credit union or financial institution experience, including familiarity with operational, regulatory, or compliance-related processes.
• Familiarity with enterprise tools such as Salesforce, Boomi Flow, Power BI, ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence, cloud migrations, or IT portfolio planning.

• Proficient in the use of basic applications in a Windows-based environment, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Moderate keyboard skills at 40 wpm.
• Excellent customer service skills.

• Work involves extensive use of computers, up to eight hours per day. Appropriate vision, dexterity, and other physical abilities are required.

Zone 1: $102,176.00 - $140,492.00

Zone 2: $92,980.16 - $127,847.72

Zone 3: $85,827.84- $118,013.28

Zone 4: $81,740.80 - $112,393.60

This position is eligible to participate in the Corporate Incentive Plan. Annual incentive opportunity ranges from 0–8% of incentive eligible earnings, based on a combination of institutional performance (0–2%) and individual performance (0–6%). Incentive payments are discretionary and subject to approval.
