Education Law Attorney

Job Overview A law firm seeks an Education Law Attorney in Los Angeles, California. This position offers remote work flexibility, allowing for a portion of the workweek to be conducted remotely. The role involves representing education agencies in general civil litigation, with a focus on claims and defenses available to public entities. Duties Analyze and execute litigation strategies through all stages of litigation. Conduct depositions and manage written discovery processes. Maintain proactive client communication, providing detailed liability and damage analyses. Represent clients in hearings, motions, and mediations. Review and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents. Develop legal strategies to resolve cases favorably and cost-effectively. Requirements Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. Admission to the California State Bar. 4+ years of litigation experience preferred. Experience in trials and/or administrative hearings is a plus. Strong analytical, writing, research, and communication skills. Experience in civil litigation; representing public entities or education agencies is strongly preferred. Knowledge of laws and procedures applicable to public entities, including governmental immunities and claims statutes. Education Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree. Certifications Admission to the California State Bar. Skills Excellent analytical, writing, research, and communication skills. Proficiency in civil litigation processes.
