Job Description:
The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit is responsible for providing care to patients with high acuity needs, focusing on the management and monitoring of significant health issues.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assess patients' progress, recognizing changes in signs and symptoms.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, utilizing high acuity drip systems.
- Maintain patient safety and comfort, including operating and managing equipment such as arterial lines and bipap-airvo systems.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Float to a lesser unit as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a PCU RN
- Experience with high acuity drip systems, arterial line management, and bipap-airvo
- Current RN License, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certification
- Ability to work every other weekend and major holidays
- Nicotine-free
