Pharmacy Technician II
The Pharmacy Technician II effectively delivers advanced expertise in pharmacy services such as, sterile compounding (IVs), Medication History support, and overseeing Automated Dispensing Cabinet (ADC) system (e.g., Pyxis). The Pharmacy Technician will continuously supporting the learning and development of Pharmacy Technician Trainees and Pharmacy Technicians Is, ensuring full training and coaching is delivered to support technician growth.
Primary responsibilities include preparing sterile and non-sterile compounded medications in accordance with United States Pharmacopeia (USP) standards, allocating patient drug history information during admission, maintaining ADC systems, providing education to pharmacy Associates, performing inventory management responsibilities, collaborating with Pharmacy and clinical staff, partnering and supporting pharmacy leadership, and verifying adherence to departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, six (6) months' work experience in a pharmacy technician role, registered Pharmacy Technician licensure in the State of Florida, and competency in sterile compounding and pharmacy workflows. Preferred qualifications include two (2) years experience as a Pharmacy Technician and Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
Physical requirements include being physically agile, occasionally lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds, and working in various environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting, and noise. The position may require working with biohazards, visual acuity and hand-eye coordination, travel to various facilities, and use of personal vehicle.
