As our repair shop in Chicago Ridge continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Truck Repair Shop Manager to lead our service department. Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will oversee the daily operations of our repair facility, manage technicians, coordinate repairs, and ensure our fleet and customer vehicles are serviced safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This role requires excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills, along with a strong understanding of Class 8 truck maintenance and repair operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Shop Operations: Manage the day-to-day workflow of the repair shop, prioritize work orders, and ensure repairs are completed on time.

Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and support diesel technicians while maintaining a productive, positive work environment.

Scheduling & Coordination: Assign repair jobs, coordinate with drivers and management, and communicate repair status and estimated completion times.

Quality Control: Inspect completed repairs to ensure high-quality workmanship and compliance with company standards.

Inventory & Parts Management: Oversee parts ordering, inventory levels, and vendor relationships to minimize downtime.

Safety & Compliance: Maintain OSHA standards, perform quality inspections, and ensure all work meets DOT and company safety requirements.

Shop Performance: Monitor shop productivity, control repair costs, improve efficiency, and help grow the service department.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Experience: Proven experience managing or supervising a heavy-duty truck repair shop or fleet maintenance operation.

Leadership: Strong ability to lead, motivate, and develop technicians while maintaining accountability.

Technical Knowledge: Excellent understanding of Class 8 truck diagnostics, repairs, preventative maintenance, and DOT compliance.

Organization: Ability to manage multiple repair projects, prioritize workloads, and maintain accurate maintenance records.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively with drivers, vendors, and management.

License: Valid driver's license required. CDL is a plus.
