Location: Covina, CA 91722. Pay: $20.00 - $20.50 per hour. Responsibilities Assist in recruiting, hiring, training and developing a high-performing staff of Member Service Representatives, Trainers and Custodians. Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members and guests, ensuring staff follows superior customer service guidelines. Assist with staff management and provide backup support to the Club Manager as needed. Schedule and supervise staff to ensure all shifts are covered, ensure staff delivers exceptional customer service, resolve or upscale employee issues, manage weekly employee payroll, and cover for absent employees. Lead by example in front desk activities: greet members and guests, answer phones, register new members, log amenities, communicate updates or events, and handle member requests or issues. Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of the club, keep front desk and lobby area orderly, participate in facility cleaning and upkeep, and report repairs to the Club Manager and Facilities Maintenance team. Order supplies using the club's budget based on requirements. Track statistics and reports on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis. Manage marketing efforts to keep staff informed and trained on promotions. Make daily bank deposits as needed. Perform other duties as assigned based on club needs. Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED equivalent. One year of customer service experience, preferably in a gym or retail environment. Current CPR certification required. Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office) and ability to learn systems quickly. Solid supervisory, diplomacy and listening skills. Hard-working, enthusiastic, energetic, and passionate about health and fitness. Strong customer service and problem-resolution skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record and reliable transportation. Physical Demands Continual standing and walking during shift. Continual talking in person or on the phone during shift.
