Sr Perfusionist

Department/Unit: Anesthesiology Hospital Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $146,542.00 - $234,467.00 Responsibilities Independently responsible for a wide range of mechanical life support systems. Provides clinical service across the health system for patients ranging from neonates to geriatric population. Demonstrates high degree of innovation and organizational skills, with accountability for independent and interdependent decision making under minimal supervision. Requires understanding of cardiac, congenital pediatric, pulmonary, and vascular procedures. Administers cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) safely and efficiently to a varied patient population. Conducts CPB independently while working closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to tailor perfusion to each patient’s needs. Monitors and maintains patient parameters during CPB, including blood pressure, heart rate, urinary output, arterial and venous blood gases, acid/base status, blood coagulation, temperature, and myocardial protection. Continuously assesses mechanical circuit parameters and remains alert to respond appropriately to changes and problems. Conducts procedures including CABG, valve, aortic aneurysm repair, TAVR, ECMO, ventricular assist device support, and neonatal and pediatric congenital defect surgeries.
