The role provides best‑course‑of‑action solutions for problem resolution on a daily basis to improve customer satisfaction, retention, utilization, and safety. Position Functions Proactively promote safety metrics and key performance indicators such as pickup %, deadhead %, assignments per week, and other essential metrics. Supervise driver performance to achieve a balance between business needs and driver needs. Utilize High‑Performance Coaching to proactively coach drivers on performance and behavior expectations. Ensure highest level of service for U.S. Xpress customers by managing expectations and commitments through strong relationships and proactive communication. Maximize company profitability and revenue through appropriate equipment utilization. Ensure win/win scenarios that result in high driver and customer satisfaction and loyalty. Handle sensitive issues, difficult conversations, and driver disputes with effective communication. Plan driver loads based on availability and ensure drivers and equipment perform as necessary to provide on-time service. Coordinate with drivers on physicals, random drug screens, and CDL renewal deadlines. Use systems such as AS400 and XPM for various tasks to maximize departmental productivity. Collaborate with other operational and support departments on various tasks. Perform yard duties as assigned. Assist others in achieving organizational objectives. Collaborate at all levels to harness collective intelligence. Build credibility and trust among employees through prompt constructive feedback or positive reinforcement. What We’re Looking For Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested. Experience 3+ years Operations experience including Customer Service, Fleet Management, or Load Planning preferred. Transportation, logistics, and/or supervisory experience a plus. Skills & Abilities Adept at assessing organizational dynamics and managing change. Works quickly and efficiently; able to test solutions, learn, and iterate. Proactive and pragmatic problem‑solver. Communicates effectively across multiple mediums. Comprehensive knowledge of DOT regulations impacting daily operations preferred. Work Environment / Physical Requirements Normal office settings.
