Make a real impact supporting students with significant cognitive impairments in a rewarding full-time teaching role. As a Special Education Teacher, you'll lead an instructional team dedicated to K-12th grade learners, providing tailored support and creative instruction to a caseload of 12 students. This contract opportunity offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule (7:15am-3:15pm, 37.5 hours per week), letting you focus on delivering high-quality educational experiences in a collaborative school environment.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification
Experience or strong interest in working with students with significant cognitive impairments
Familiarity with differentiated instructional methods and adaptive technologies
Positive communication skills and a commitment to collaborative teamwork
Ability to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and document student progress
Strong organizational abilities to manage tasks and coordinate with classroom staff
Your Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise an instructional team in your classroom, ensuring every student receives personalized support
Develop and implement engaging, individualized lesson plans based on each student’s unique needs and goals
Maintain accurate records of progress, assessments, and interventions
Foster a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for students and staff
Communicate regularly with families and other specialists to support student growth
Uphold all compliance and documentation requirements related to special education services
