Job Title: Step-Down Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years of recent Step-Down experience License: Active Nursing License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Recent Step-Down experience Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management Knowledge of post-operative care for heart catheterization and vascular procedures Ability to manage respiratory support (BiPAP, CPAP, Vapotherm) Skilled in invasive procedures such as IV and PICC line management Description: The Step-Down Registered Nurse will provide care to patients in a critical care setting. The role encompasses managing patients with congestive heart failure, post-heart catheterization, and procedures. Nurses will monitor patients experiencing respiratory failure and cardiac dysrhythmias. Responsibilities include post-cardiac intervention care, frequent vital sign monitoring, and neurovascular checks. Nurses will administer medications, including emergency drugs, and manage blood product administration. The role requires proficiency in cardiac drip management and titration. A strong understanding of infection prevention and isolation protocols is essential. Nurses must be skilled in phlebotomy and general patient care practices. Travelers must be flexible with scheduling and be prepared for weekend shifts. The patient ratio is approximately 1:4-5, allowing for focused patient care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills and work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
