Carpentry Journeyman - Maintenance Department

Carpenter Position

Qualifications: Must have the ability to follow written instructions and have two years of experience as a carpenter. Must prove competence on a performance test of job-related skills. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.

Reports To: General Manager of Maintenance, Associate Manager of Maintenance, Assistant Manager of Maintenance

Performance Responsibilities:

• To perform all types of construction duties as directed by the carpentry foreman or leaderman. Work includes: reading of rules, figuring square footage, identifying types of hand and electrical tools and knowing how to use them, figuring concrete, using a framing square, figuring lumber, installing doors, doing miscellaneous jobs, repairing floor tile, etc. and preparing forms to pour concrete.
• To accept all work assigned by the Supervisor of Maintenance.
• To furnish truck capable of carrying heavy loads and to provide all necessary hand and power tools of the trade.
• To furnish transportation for personnel use as required.
• To supervise or instruct helper or apprentice.
• All employees are subject to Drug/Alcohol testing in accordance with Policy GAME.

Evaluation: Performance in this position will be evaluated at least once annually in accordance with Board Policy.
