Production Assembler

$25.00 an hour, paid every Friday. Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off through RPC Company.

We are hiring for a large aerospace and defense manufacturer in Plano, TX that needs four assemblers on its production floor.

You'd be building aluminum structures and heavy-duty transit cases for satellite communication equipment.

9/80 schedule: You work 6:30am to 4:00pm, nine hours a day, M-Th, then 8 hours on Friday, and have every other Friday off.

Day to day

• Drill holes in aluminum panels, frames, and brackets.
• Set rivets with a pneumatic rivet gun.
• Bolt aluminum structures together and torque fasteners to spec.
• Build from assembly drawings, diagrams, and work instructions.
• Apply labels to cases, laminate them, and mark parts with a paint striper.
• Pack, crate, and palletize finished units for shipping.

Required experience

• You can read an assembly drawing or diagram and follow it exactly.
• Attention to detail. This is the single thing they screen for hardest.
• Prior experience with hand tools — drills, rivet guns, sockets, wrenches, ratchets.
• You show up on time, follow instructions, and do the work.
• Able to lift 40 lbs and stand for a full shift.
• No degree, no clearance, and no prior manufacturing experience required.

Preferred experience

• Construction, automotive, welding, sheet metal, HVAC, warehouse, and/or prior military maintenance backgrounds all translate — preferred, not required.

Term: 6-month contract on the RPC Company payroll. The client expects to convert one or two of the four positions to permanent. Occasional Saturday or off-Friday overtime when the schedule demands it.

Interview is 15 minutes onsite at the client's location in Plano, TX.
