Software Engineer

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Lead Software/Integration Engineer with experience in modern front-end development, Javascript, AWS, Docker, Linux, CI/CD, and AI-assisted development to support front-end modernization, software integration, and mission-system reliability improvements. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership across software and infrastructure teams and work onsite at Patrick Space Force Base. Essential Functions: Build modern, responsive, intuitive front-end solutions using current web frameworks and best practices. Apply software engineering best practices across the full development lifecycle, including code reviews, automated testing, version control, and CI/CD pipelines. Deploy and maintain applications in AWS, ensuring scalability, security, resilience, and cost-effectiveness. Support containerized deployments using Docker and, where applicable, Kubernetes. Engage with customers daily to refine requirements and improve application functionality. Prepare and brief technical designs, implementation plans, roadmaps, and documentation. Produce and maintain technical documentation for system design, application architecture, deployment procedures, and sustainment activities. Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, DynamoDB, or other relational/non-relational data stores. Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar. Security Certification or any DoD IAT Level II Certification, or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of accepting position. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. Active TS clearance with the ability to obtain SCI. Preferred Additional Skills: Experience developing AI/ML-enabled mission applications, analytical tools, or decision-support capabilities involving advanced data processing, automation, visualization, and user interaction. Experience developing and deploying applications in Amazon Web Services (AWS). Proficiency with front-end technologies such as React, Angular, Vue, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS. Experience with Docker, CI/CD, Git, REST APIs, microservices, and secure software development. Experience with scientific, sensor-derived, geophysical, acoustic, seismic, infrasonic, or other mission-relevant technical data is highly desired. Experience building back-end services and APIs using Python, Java, Node.js, .NET, or similar. Experience with AI-assisted development tools Experience transitioning research or prototype capabilities into operational software tools, supporting classified DoD mission environments strongly preferred. Experience supporting Agile software development teams and participating in Scrum ceremonies. Experience building and deploying mission applications in classified or high-security environments. Familiarity with the C2S Access Portal (CAP) and high-side AWS environments is highly desired. Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
