Operations Manager – Sports Cards

Salary: $65,000–$80,000 annually
Hours: 4:00 PM–12:00 AM

About the Role

Waxxed Sports Cards is hiring a Live Break Operations Manager to oversee our live sports card breaking operations and make real-time decisions that keep our streams running smoothly and profitably.

This is a hands-on management role. You'll be actively monitoring live breaks, supporting and managing breakers, adjusting product levels, watching retail pricing, approving discounts, managing inventory, and correcting issues as they happen.

We're looking for someone who can see what's happening, make a decision, communicate it clearly, and take ownership of the outcome.

Sports card knowledge and at least 2 years of management or supervisory experience are required.

What You'll Do

• Oversee day-to-day live sports card breaking operations.
• Lead, support, and hold breakers accountable for performance and expectations.
• Monitor live breaks and know when to level product up or down based on sales, demand, pacing, and customer activity.
• Determine when products or featured items should be pinned or promoted during a break.
• Monitor retail and market pricing in real time and adjust prices when needed.
• Approve discounts while considering product value, margins, and sales opportunities.
• Provide pricing guidance and make decisions on high-end sports card products.
• Monitor inventory levels and recognize when products need to be reordered before inventory becomes too low.
• Assist with inventory planning, product allocation, and deciding which products should be used during upcoming breaks.
• Watch live streams closely for incorrect pricing, product information, graphics, listings, or other on-screen issues and correct them during the break.
• Manage the flow, pacing, and execution of live streams.
• Troubleshoot operational and technical issues as they arise.
• Make quick decisions without needing constant direction or approval.
• Coordinate breakers, schedules, inventory, and stream needs.
• Maintain organized processes and a high level of accuracy in a fast-moving environment.
• Review performance and identify opportunities to improve breaking operations, inventory strategy, and overall stream performance.
• Work closely with leadership on breaking strategy, inventory, pricing, and growth.
• Work between our Plano and North Dallas locations as business needs require.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum of 2 years of management or supervisory experience is REQUIRED.
• Strong sports card knowledge is REQUIRED.
• Sports card breaking experience is highly preferred.
• Proven ability to lead employees, set expectations, provide direction, and hold team members accountable.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong organization and time-management skills.
• Confident making quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong judgment when making pricing, discount, product, and inventory decisions.
• Comfortable monitoring sales, demand, and retail pricing in real time and adjusting strategy accordingly.
• Tech savvy and comfortable learning live-streaming platforms, inventory systems, and internal technology.
• Able to identify incorrect information or problems on a live stream and take immediate action to correct them.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Able to manage multiple priorities at the same time without losing attention to detail.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of decisions.
• Flexible and able to work between our Plano and North Dallas locations.
• Available to work 4:00 PM–12:00 AM.

Training

The selected candidate will complete approximately two weeks of training on an earlier shift before transitioning into the regular management schedule.

Candidates must be able to accommodate the temporary training schedule.

Who Will Thrive in This Role

This position is best suited for someone who is confident, decisive, highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership.

You'll need to be able to watch several things at once: the live break, the breaker, product performance, pricing, inventory, customer activity, and what's appearing on screen.

During a live stream, you should be comfortable making decisions such as:

• Do we need to increase or decrease the amount of product we're putting out?
• Should a particular product or item be pinned or featured right now?
• Does the current retail price need to be adjusted?
• Should we approve this discount?
• What should we price this high-end product at?
• Is inventory getting low enough that we need to reorder?
• Is everything the customer sees on screen accurate?
• If something is wrong, can I get it corrected immediately?

Compensation

$65,000–$80,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
