Forklift Operator

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Warehouse Worker with Forklift experience to join our logistics team in Ronkonkoma, NY. In this dual-capacity role, you will handle day-to-day warehouse operations, including receiving inventory, picking and packing customer orders, loading/unloading delivery trucks, and operating power industrial trucks (sit-down/stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks). You will play a critical role in keeping our inventory accurate, our shipments on time, and our warehouse facility safe and organized.

salary: $23 - $25 per hour

Responsibilities

• Forklift & Material Handling: Safely operate sit-down, stand-up reach, or high-bay forklifts and electric pallet jacks to transport, stack, rack, and stage raw materials, pallets, and finished goods throughout the facility.

• Receiving & Unloading: Unload inbound freight trucks, inspect incoming shipments for damage, verify quantities against bill of lading/packing slips, and stage goods for put-away.

• Order Picking & Packing: Accurately select product items using pick sheets or RF scanners, pack orders securely into shipping containers, label packages, and prepare pallets for outbound shipment.

• Shipping & Loading: Stage and load outbound trucks ensuring proper weight distribution, secure cargo, and accurate shipping documentation.

• Inventory Control: Perform cycle counts, conduct physical inventory audits, report stock discrepancies, and update item locations in the warehouse management system (WMS).

• Housekeeping & Safety: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by sweeping aisles, breaking down cardboard boxes, clearing trash, and adhering to strict OSHA safety protocols.

• Equipment Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-shift safety checks on forklifts and material handling equipment, reporting any mechanical issues to maintenance immediately.
