Job Title: Kitchen Steward

Job Summary: Join the Hoffman Institute Foundation at our tranquil retreat site in San Rafael as

a Kitchen Steward. In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for a range of kitchen duties

including dishwashing, food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and managing inventory. Your

efforts will ensure a well-organized and efficiently running kitchen that supports our mission of

providing transformative retreat experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dishwashing: Efficiently clean dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, ensuring they are

sanitized and ready for use.

• Food Preparation: Assist with preparing ingredients, including chopping fruits and

vegetables, mixing ingredients, and portioning food.

• Organization: Maintain an orderly kitchen by organizing supplies, cleaning surfaces,

and ensuring proper storage of food items.

• Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage inventory, assist with ordering

supplies, and ensure proper rotation of stock.

• Sanitation: Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure kitchen cleanliness and

sanitation, including handling waste and managing compost and recyclables.

• Equipment Maintenance: Report any damaged or malfunctioning equipment and assist

with minor repairs or maintenance as needed.

• Support Service: Assist in setting up for events or meals, and provide support during

meal service to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications:

• Previous kitchen experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Reliable, with flexibility in work hours to meet retreat schedules.
• Team player and able to work independently when needed.
