What You Will Do

Under direct supervision, collaborate with others to troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, commission, and improve site Industrial Control Systems. Follow and participate in Freeport-McMoRan safety and environmental programs and communicate safety implications related to Process Automation and ICS cybersecurity practices. Coordinate with others on Process Automation engineering topics and projects. Read and interpret engineering documentation and verify project work meets site standards. Troubleshoot ICS hardware and software installations and identify opportunities for process improvement through automation. Utilize the Process Control Network (PCN) to maintain plant performance, cybersecurity, and historian systems. Configure and troubleshoot advanced instrumentation solutions for integration into ICS. Understand equipment life cycle management and assist with budgetary estimates to keep systems current. Perform other duties as requested.

What You Bring To Freeport

• Two (2) years of experience relevant to electrical, instrumentation, and/or Process Automation maintenance and troubleshooting in an industrial setting
• Completion of required academic and practical competencies, including Line of Progression requirements for internal employees
• Demonstrated aptitude for technical troubleshooting and maintenance

Preferred Qualifications

• PLC, HMI, SCADA, and/or DCS manufacturer training or certification
• Experience with plant process historians or similar database systems
• Experience with ICS/PCN network architecture, communication, and security
• Experience in or understanding of mining and mineral processing systems
• Familiarity with NFPA 70 and NEC or Electrical Journeyman Training

What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is currently $27.00 - $36.00/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
