HVAC Mechanical Service Apprentice Technician (union)

Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service How you will do it · Apprentices will be trained and will perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites. · Apprentices will participate in certified training through Service Technical Academy that will build skill sets to provide continued opportunities for recognition, monetary rewards and advancement. · Through coaching and mentorship, apprentices will develop skills to troubleshoot and resolve both technical issues as well as customer needs. · You will keep JCI, contractors, and the customer advised of job progress and issues as needed. · You will meet attendance requirements for required Union training for first year. · Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities. · Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions. What we look for · Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO. · 1+ years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry. · Generally required knowledge includes mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques · Effective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner. · Leadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site · Self-starter with ability to eventually work independently. · Prioritize safety in all forms. · This position requires a valid driver’s license. Preferred 1-2 years of trade school or college in a technical emphasis. Pay Range: $21-$31 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
