Job Title: Diesel Mechanic / Technician Location: Rockford, Illinois Company: Interstate Power Systems Interstate Power System's is looking for a Diesel Mechanic/Technician(s) for our Rockford, Illinois location. We are currently seeking Diesel Mechanic/Technician(s) to join our team who are specializing in Freightliner, Detroit, Allison, Cummins, CAT products, MTU and more! We are offering highly competitive wages! Diesel Technician Pay Range: $18.00-$45.00/hour D.O.E. Diesel Mechanic/Technician Job Duties: Responsible for repairing, maintaining diesel engines and diesel components used in various vehicles and diesel equipment. Accurately and efficiently diagnose complex diesel engine conditions and make necessary repairs. Communicate effectively with peers, foreman, and service team regarding those repairs. Quality control work performed to ensure maximum customer satisfaction. Keep paperwork updated and handed in upon completion. Meet requirements for certifications. Diesel Mechanic/Technician Requirements: Valid Driver's license (Bonus compensation for CDL holders) Must possess a good work ethic, a positive attitude, and be reliable. Must possess an excellent understanding of Detroit Diesel engines through the current GHG17 product. Experience with other diesel engine platforms such as Cummins, CAT, & International are a plus. Other mechanical skills desired but not essential: Hydraulics, Brakes & Suspension, Manual Transmissions, Drive Train, and Automatic Transmissions. Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions. Technical degree or certification a plus. Diesel Mechanic Desired Skills/Qualities: Positive attitude and the ability to set goals and accomplish them. The desire to take advantage of certification opportunities to have the most updated product training.
