Responsibilities As an Occupational Therapist, you help patients get well by assessing patient needs, developing recovery plans, and delivering occupational therapy. You design programs to restore, reinforce, and enhance physical abilities and independence, addressing the whole patient and treating them as an individual. Adaptation to patient needs, collaboration with peers, and referral to other care providers are key aspects. You teach patients and caregivers the skills needed to promote independence and productivity. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in an occupational therapy curriculum accredited by ACOTE. Initial registration from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy. Valid and unencumbered occupational therapy license in the state of practice.
