- PACS System Usage
Description:
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of all aspects of General Diagnostic Radiology.
Familiar with and adheres to departmental protocols and policies.
Obtains and maintains RT(R) credentials in active status.
Uses technical knowledge to assist in troubleshooting work unit problems.
Enthusiastically shares knowledge with colleagues and students.
Ensures patient demographic information, emulsion markers, and requested examinations are correct.
Critiques, orients, and saves all pertinent images.
Transmits quality-assured images to the PACS system.
Documents completion and/or cancellation of all procedures in the RIS.
Maintains image management equipment and reports any equipment issues.
Utilizes PACS and HIS systems for obtaining additional study data.
Performs work in a timely manner and consistently produces quality radiographic images.
Analyzes requests and draws appropriate conclusions for examinations and action plans.
Reviews radiographic orders and images, correlating patient demographic information.
Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
Documents incidents and advises supervisors on improvement opportunities.
Uses RIS, CIS, PACS, and SMS effectively to access information and document procedure status.
Verifies patient identity and obtains relevant patient history.
Confirms pregnancy status before administering ionizing radiation.
Assesses patients' physical condition and develops an action plan for examinations.
Determines if additional medical personnel or equipment are needed during examinations.
Assists patients requiring extra attention and reacts to emergency situations.
Ensures patient safety throughout the examination process.
