The PRN Licensed Practical Nurse functions as part of the hemodialysis health care team in providing safe and effective dialysis therapy for patients. Works under the supervision of a Registered nurse in accordance with Concerto's policies, procedures, and training and in compliance with regulations set for by state and federal agencies.What Will You Do?Direct Patient CareProvides hands-on care to assigned patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse, including initiating and discontinuing dialysis treatments per prescribed orders.Vital Signs & MonitoringObtain pre and post treatment vitals, weight and vascular access assessment. Report any unusual changes or findings to the Registered nurse.Dialysis Machine OperationSets up, operates, and performs safety checks on hemodialysis machines; administers heparin as permitted by state law. Initiate and discontinue dialysis treatment according to prescribed orders and policy.Documentation & Lab WorkAccurately documents patient treatment details including vital signs, treatment parameters, and change in condition, and prepares laboratory specimens as prescribed.Customer Service & EnvironmentDelivers excellent service to patients, families, and staff, while maintaining a clean and safe work environmentQualificationsYou Might Be a Good Fit If…Compassionate and EmpatheticA Critical Thinker and Problem-SolverAn Individual who Thrives in a Team EnvironmentAn Individual with Excellent Communication SkillsPurpose-drivenWhat's Required?Licensed Practical Nurse requiredCurrent CPR Certification or completion upon starting in unit.Able to meet physical demands of the position.Minimum of (1) years of Licensed Practical Nurse experience in dialysis.Physical Requirements & Work EnvironmentThis role requires successful completion of the Ishihara Color Blindness Test to ensure accurate color perception in a clinical setting. It also involves prolonged walking, standing, stooping, and bending, with the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Strong focus and attention to detail are essential. The work environment includes temperature control, moderate noise levels, and potential exposure to infectious materials.
