Field Service Power Generation Technician / Mechanic – Distribution Business – Columbia, MO We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution Business in Columbia, MO. Responsibilities Completing repair activities on generators or components Engaging with customers in a courteous and professional manner Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools Maintain detailed records of service Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products Maintain own tools Qualifications Broad mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities. High Voltage / Low Voltage experience. Capable of electrical repair and maintenance with minimal supervision – hands on exposure to working on power generation products. Primarily engaged in preventative maintenance or basic repairs/diagnostics on generators. Basic Diesel Engine experience. Requires direct supervision and review of workmanship quality. Compensation and Benefits Salary rate commensurate with experience. Education, Licenses, Certifications Apprentice Trained Power Generation/ Electrical Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Current relevant electrical certification Locally valid driving permit Position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience Minimal level of workshop related experience required. Basic knowledge of and/or experience with power generation products. High Voltage / Low Voltage experience. Requires CDL driver’s license at time of hire or within 6 months of filling the role. Work Hours and Call Requirements Business hours are 7:30 AM – 4 PM, Monday-Friday. Hours may flex depending on customer needs. This role may require on-call duty after training and when comfort with skill level is achieved. DOT Requirements Current valid CDL is required. Requires a 5-year motor vehicle report, free of major violations. Subject to FMCSA drug and alcohol testing requirements and ongoing random testing. Applicant must pass a DOT physical. Subject to DOT driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use. Operator of commercial vehicles must be at least 21 years of age.
