About the Position

Job Title: Float Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Valid state license required Certifications: ACLS and BCLS required; CCRN preferred Must-Have: - Required cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills - Experience in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Knowledge of multi-system organ failure - Experience with thermoregulation: hypothermia/hyperthermia - IV insulin protocol experience - Experience with chronic/acute renal failure - IV therapy skills including accessing ports and central line management - Medication administration skills including titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips - Neurological case management experience including CVA/acute stroke management - Respiratory and thoracic care experience including ventilator management Description: This position is for a Float Registered Nurse in the ICU. The nurse will be expected to float to other units as needed. The average daily census is 5 patients. The unit has 8 rooms and 10 beds. Weekend shifts may be required, up to every other weekend. The position may require being placed on call as needed. Candidates may be accepted with a pending license. Travelers may not be accepted if within a specified radius of the facility. The ideal candidate should have experience in managing ventilated patients. The role will require effective infection prevention and adherence to isolation precautions. Phlebotomy skills are required for this position. The nurse will work with interdisciplinary support teams. Daily tasks include managing patients through various surgical and medical conditions. The candidate should possess knowledge of and experience with advanced patient monitoring techniques. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are essential. Expected to ensure high standards of patient care. The position requires adaptability and willingness to learn new procedures and protocols.
