Registered Nurse – Med Surg / Orthopedic

• Shift: Days (6:30 AM–7:00 PM) or Nights (6:30 PM–7:00 AM)
• Unit: 28 Med Surg beds + 22 overflow beds
• Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Contract Type: Travel RN

Required Experience

• Med Surg experience required
• Orthopedic patient care experience preferred
• Able to care for:
  • Total joint replacements (hips, knees, shoulders)
  • Fractures
  • COPD
  • CHF
  • Diabetes
  • Sepsis
  • Pneumonia
  • Oncology
  • Dementia
  • IV antibiotic therapy

Certifications

• ✅ AHA BLS (Required)

Unit Details

• Charge nurse available
• CNA ratio approximately 1:10
• Monitor tech available
• Heparin, IV antibiotics, anticoagulants, and narcotic infusions
• No titratable drips
• Self-scheduling
• Every 3rd weekend required
• Float to PCU and Behavioral Health (McDermott) as needed

Important Submission Requirements

• Minimum 50-mile radius from facility (verified using driver's license)
• Driver's license required at submission
• Cannot currently be Full-Time, Part-Time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facility (within the past year)
• RTO must be submitted upfront (no additional RTO after submission)
• Artificial nails are prohibited
• Open-book competency exam during orientation
  • Must score 90% or higher or contract will be terminated
• Prescreen + Auto Offer position
