Step into a rewarding position supporting student health as a 1:1 Licensed Practical Nurse within a vibrant school setting near Arlington Heights, IL. This contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced LPN or RN with a background in school nursing and a passion for pediatric care. You’ll play a vital role in supporting a student with hypoplasia type 6 who requires meticulous monitoring and compassionate attention throughout the school day.

Key Qualifications:

• Current LPN or RN license in Illinois required
• Experience working in school nursing or with pediatric populations strongly preferred
• Competency in seizure management and response protocols
• Skilled in administering and monitoring G-tube feeds
• Familiarity with supporting students with rare health conditions is highly desirable
• Strong communication skills and a calm, collaborative approach

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 nursing care to a student with hypoplasia type 6
• Monitor and promptly respond to seizure activity and implement emergency health plans as needed
• Administer G-tube feeds and monitor nutritional intake according to physician and school guidelines
• Document all care provided and communicate effectively with faculty, parents, and healthcare providers
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the student throughout the school day and during any school activities
• Maintain professionalism, discretion, and a compassionate bedside manner
