The Nursing Supervisor supervises and directs nursing personnel and monitors staffing and skill mix for appropriate staffing levels in the absence of the Nursing Director. Serves as a clinical resource for the nursing staff, assisting with problem solving in determining interventions as appropriate for the patient age and clinical situation. Serves as a resource for Charge Nurses.Minimum EducationSuccessful completion of the Nursing Diploma Program or an Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred.Required SkillsCertifications/LicenseBasic Life Support (BLS) is required through American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of employment. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months of employment. Unencumbered Multistate or North Carolina RN License.Minimum Work ExperienceExperience and expertise in management either in front line or shift supervisory work.
