About the Position

Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Must have an active Illinois license to apply Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required Must-Have: - First-timers not accepted - Must work every other weekend - Floating required within facility to meet needs - No more than 5 days of time off preferred Description: Position available for an ICU Registered Nurse. Shifts are 3x12 nights from 18:45 to 07:15. The average daily census is between 10 to 12 patients. Candidates must possess a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience. First-time travelers are not accepted for this position. Weekend work is required, with every other weekend needed. Candidates must have active certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS. The unit will primarily handle trauma and burn patients, with some medical and cardiac overflow cases. The facility operates as an acute care hospital and is a Level I trauma center. Candidates should be familiar with the Cerner charting system. Additional skills required include managing central lines, arterial lines, and ventilated patients. Experience in caring for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction and post-arrest care is essential. Knowledge of emergency medications, procedural sedation, and massive transfusion protocols is also necessary. Team collaboration is supported by various interdisciplinary services, including physical therapy and respiratory services. The unit performs various bedside procedures, including line placements and thoracentesis. Additional equipment experience, such as CRRT and Swan Ganz monitoring, is preferred. Candidates should be committed to meeting compliance standards promptly.
