Quality Assurance Specialist - Early Head Start

SUMMARY: The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for assessment and monitoring services to childcare providers participating in the Early Head Start (EHS) Child Care Partnership Grant. The duties require managing and providing oversight of the monitoring and tracking activities conducted within the EHS Program to meet compliance mandates defined by the Head Start Performance Standards, State of Florida Child Care Licensing, School Readiness, and local regulations. Participates in EHS Quality Assurance efforts. HOURS: This is a full-time position, and business hours at the Palm Springs location are Monday through Thursday 8:00 am to 5:30 pm and Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00pm. Longer hours, evenings, and weekends may be necessary on occasion. PAY RATE: up to $24.48 per hour commensurate with experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducts on-site programmatic monitoring review of Early Head Start programs using approved program monitoring tools and prepares reports of monitoring results. Conducts follow-up visits as required for Quality Improvement Plans. Conducts consistent desk reviews in the monitoring of EHS providers and of the overall program. Investigates complaints as required. Communicates in a courteous and respectful manner to provide quality customer service and positive relationship in interactions. Facilitates training and provides technical assistance as required. Supports in the area of health and safety, the collection of health-related documents, and input into the designated system. Monitors the quality and compliance of education files, licensing requirements, referral systems for families and children, disabilities, health, nutrition, curriculum implementation, mental health, provision of social services, and ERSEA systems. Participates in the self-assessment and provides input to the improvement plan. Meets with EHS administrative team to keep them abreast of the compliance outcomes and/or new developments in state, regional and national levels concerning the Early Head Start program. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from an accredited four-year college or university in a Early Childhood, Public Health, Child Development, Early Childhood Education or Health or related field. Two years of experience in Early Childhood, Public Health and/or Quality Assurance Previous experience in Head Start and/or School Readiness contract compliance, or local licensing, is a plus.
