Position Summary:

This is a temporary position to develop the skills of a student enrolled in a high school technical trade program, and to evaluate their potential for future opportunity at Straumann. Straumann runs a world class shop and supports training and teaching of students. This is a great opportunity for the right student.

Major Responsibilities of the Position:

· Prepare daily micro-sections samples for production

· Operate manual machines including engine lathes and milling machines

· Operate CNC machinery with assistance of a Machinist to ensure parts meet specifications.

· Inspect parts visually and dimensionally to include SPC part inspection

· Follow procedures and quality requirements

· Clean and maintain machines.

· As assigned by management

Physical Attributes:

· Utilize eyesight and manual dexterity to work with small parts and hold tight tolerances.

· General manufacturing environment.

· Will be exposed to conditions associated with manufacturing equipment and tools

· Moderate lifting up to 50 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Enrolled in a High School Technical/Trade machinist program

Preferred Qualifications:

· A mechanical aptitude and a commitment to learn, as well as to adopt good work habits.

· Attention to fine detail and high quality.

· A high standard of professional conduct

· Hard work ethic

· Punctual attendance

Salary: $18.50/hour. The final pay for this position will vary based on geographic location and candidate experience relative to what the company reasonably anticipates for this position.
