Product Developer - Buyer

Location: Morristown, TN- onsite role

Our client is seeking a Merchandise Manager / Buyer to source, select, and manage product lines that support the company’s growing wholesale distribution business. This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, profit‑minded, and confident negotiating with vendors.

Responsibilities:

• Source, select, and manage product lines for wholesale distribution
• Analyze sales trends, vendor performance, and market data to optimize assortments
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and promotional support with vendors
• Collaborate with sales, marketing, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless product flow
• Maintain accurate records and manage data using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Requirements:

• Strong vendor negotiation and relationship‑building skills
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
• Solid understanding of distribution channels, inventory management, and profit‑driven decision‑making
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to travel occasionally (minimal travel required)
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite confidently
• Ability to negotiate with vendors and present vendor programs to the sales team
• Understanding of distribution operations, inventory management, and profit‑focused buying

Compensation:

• $55,000 – $70,000 annually, based on experience
• Paid vacation, profit sharing and 401k
