Freedom Home Care is hiring dependable, experienced Overnight Awake Caregivers to provide one-on-one care to clients in their homes throughout the Owatonna or Mankato area.

This is a PRN (as-needed) position , giving you the opportunity to pick up available overnight shifts that work with your schedule.

This is an awake overnight position. Caregivers must remain awake, alert, and available for the entire 10:00 PM–7:00 AM shift to provide safety, comfort, supervision, and assistance as needed.

What You'll Do

Responsibilities vary based on each client's individual care plan and may include:

• Remaining awake and alert throughout the entire overnight shift
• Providing safety supervision and monitoring
• Assisting with toileting and personal care
• Providing mobility and transfer assistance
• Repositioning or other overnight care as required
• Medication reminders
• Light housekeeping related to client care
• Providing reassurance and companionship
• Responding promptly when the client needs assistance
• Completing required care documentation
• Observing and reporting changes in the client's condition

Pay & Perks

• $18–$21/hour , based on experience
• $200 retention bonus after 90 days
• $250 caregiver referral bonus after eligibility requirements are met
• Time-and-a-half holiday pay

What We're Looking For

Because overnight caregivers work independently and must be prepared to respond to client needs throughout the night, previous professional caregiving experience is required for this position.

We're looking for caregivers who are:

• Dependable and committed to their scheduled shifts
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful
• Professional and responsive
• Comfortable working independently in a client's home
• Comfortable providing personal care
• Able to follow an individualized care plan
• Able to communicate effectively with clients, families, and the Freedom Home Care team
• Able to remain awake, alert, and attentive throughout the entire overnight shift

Required Qualifications

To be considered for this position, applicants must:

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Have previous professional caregiving experience
• Have a valid driver's license
• Have their own reliable personal vehicle
• Maintain current auto insurance
• Meet Freedom Home Care's driving record requirements
• Successfully complete a Minnesota DHS background study
• Meet required TB screening requirements
• Be willing to travel to client homes within our service area, generally up to a 30-mile radius
• Have reliable transportation to and from all scheduled client shifts
• Be dependable and able to arrive on time for scheduled shifts
• Be comfortable providing personal care
• Be able to remain awake and alert for the entire 10:00 PM–7:00 AM shift
• Be able to work independently and respond appropriately to client needs throughout the night
• Be able to meet the physical requirements of assigned client care

A valid driver's license, your own reliable personal vehicle, and current auto insurance are required for this position.

Personal experience caring for a family member alone does not qualify as professional caregiving experience for this position.
