Job Summary
The California-based Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) works during night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The role involves providing comprehensive care to antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum patients, and stable newborns, including stabilization of sick neonates and fetal monitoring. Candidates are required to bring their California state nursing license on the first day. The position demands a highly skilled individual capable of managing all phases of labor and delivery care.

Job Details

• Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Graduate of School of Nursing; current California State License as a Registered Nurse; BLS certification upon hire and ongoing; NRP certification within 6 months of hire and ongoing; fetal monitoring certification (intermediate or advanced) within 6 months of hire and ongoing; BFHI Lactation Education required or within 6 months of hire; one-year labor and delivery experience required or completed extended orientation meeting all expectations for less than one year.
• Additional Information: The RN will provide collaborative nursing care following departmental policies, ensuring the health and safety of both mother and newborns. The role involves direct patient care tasks, teamwork, and effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. It includes exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and requires understanding patient development across the life span, from neonate to geriatric. The position involves delegation and appropriate utilization of care resources, with an emphasis on patient-centered care and safety.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
