Our company is built upon the talent and experience of our associates, and we are looking for a driven, team-oriented Senior Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. JOB SUMMARY: The Electrical Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the electrical design of the assigned projects. Specifically, this position will utilize expert knowledge and skills in the design and engineering of electrical systems. This position is responsible for identifying and providing solutions to electrical engineering problems. The Electrical Engineer will initiate conceptual designs subject to the review and approval of the Engineering Manager, and Preconstruction Manager. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the electrical design, engineering, and specifications for the project. Organize the engineering effort required to facilitate the project from initial concept through completion. Make any adjustments to calculations, drawings, and specifications as required by the team lead electrical engineer Must be familiar with the project's scope of work, engineering hours budget, and construction budget Utilize knowledge of best engineering practices, mathematics, materials, and other physical sciences to complete the drawings. Perform site surveys and equipment assessments Provide project engineering coordination during construction as assigned Other tasks assigned within the scope of this role SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES: None QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Minimum of three (3) years' electrical engineering experience, HVAC engineering experience with a professional engineering firm, automation contractor, or mechanical contractor engaged in MEP related or similar work desired. Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is a plus, but not required Valid (real ID) driver's license and reliable transportation Willingness to travel to worksites, up to 25% of the time KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Basic understanding of electrical design and engineering and construction means and methods associated with the new or renovation of commercial and institutional buildings and/or similar facilities Proficient user of Microsoft office suite; proficient in other software used in the construction industry Familiarity with project management software (e.g. Procore, SharePoint, Bluebeam Revu) Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit Design software Mathematical skills to perform the duties of this role, review or prepare budgets and other job-related documents, and to effectively perform the role of an electrical engineer Strong communication skills (oral and written); must be able to effectively relay information to various audience groups, including customers and perspective customers, managers, leadership, colleagues, and business associates; must be able to prepare professional written communications (emails, documents, etc.) Strong interpersonal skills: ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships with individuals internal and external to the company and from various backgrounds Highly collaborative and focused on sharing details routinely and consistently with team members Self-managing, able to work autonomously when necessary and effectively integrate with project teammates to meet deadlines and expectations Demonstrate optimism and the ability to navigate challenges in a way that produces value, exceeds expectations, and promotes company success Demonstrate the ability to approach new and demanding situations with innovation and determination Operate at a high level of speed and productivity, be sensitive to time and cost factors associated with their expertise, project budgets and company-wide financial goals Strong organization skills with the ability to motivate and prioritize tasks; must be able to effectively manage own schedule with limited oversight Analytical skills; ability to analyze data and potential outcomes; ability to evaluate problems and identify resolutions; good negotiation skills Must demonstrate professionalism and tact in all interactions Ability to maintain satisfactory attendance WORKING CONDITIONS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work is performed mostly in the office. Some outdoor work is required in the inspection of various land use developments, existing facility conditions, field work, construction sites, and public works facilities. Hand-eye coordination is necessary to operate computers, and various pieces of office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and smell. The employee may occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Travel may include overnight stays for multiple nights; travel may be by personal vehicle or by commercial airline.
