Fabricator

Duties

• Operate various fabrication machines, including: 2CNC press brakes, metal rollers, Rotary punch presses, coil straighteners and feeders, sanders, drills, grinders, and milling machines, as well as ironworkers, saws, and shears.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders to produce precision parts.
• Accurately track labor and inventory through ERP systems; retrieve materials and monitor deadlines.
• Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, rules, angle gauges, and height gauges.
• Perform work in accordance with safety protocols and quality standards.
• Support 5S, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace; follow time management practices to meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with team members and internal customers to resolve production or quality issues.
• Participate in training and complete forklift and overhead crane certification (provided in-house).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 12 years of experience in a fabrication or job shop setting preferred.
• Proficiency operating multiple types of fabrication machinery listed above.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and basic data entry transactions.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Sound problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• High attention to detail to ensure product quality and documentation accuracy.
• Ability to work at a consistent pace in a setting with frequent interruptions and tight deadlines.

Additional Requirements

Certifications

• Must pass internal forklift and overhead crane certification program. Training provided.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and arms, and communicate clearly.
• Occasionally required to sit, climb, kneel, stoop, or crawl.
• Must regularly lift/move heavy items.
• Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Exposure to metal chips, liquid coolants, moving parts, and airborne particles.
• Conditions may be humid or hot during summer months.
• Moderate to loud noise levels.
